Mustafa Balakchiev is born in 1967 in the city of Balchik, Bulgaria. Since young age, the art plays major role in his life and he works hard to achieve his goal to become painter. Throughout his teenage years, he wins many awards for art and mosaic from different competitions and contests.
In 1991, he studied painting in the Imperial Academy of Arts in the University in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The years that followed Balakchiev continues his studies in the studios of some established Bulgarian artists. The strong roots for his birthplace creates his own style, where the sea is constant part of the plot and this makes him one of the familiar Bulgarian mariners. Mustafa Balkchiev's oil on canvas art pieces are part of private collections in Bulgaria, The United Kingdom, Turkey, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Austria, Moldova, etc.
